This year, the ninth Great Easter Carnival will be held. The most joyful event at two well-known locations, Tasmajdan Park and Zemun Quay (near Venecija), and a new, third one, Teatar na Savi in block 44, in New Belgrade.
This coming weekend, April 19th and 20th, in cooperation with three city municipalities - Palilula, Zemun and New Belgrade, the Great Easter Carnival will be held at three great locations, where admission will be free, as always. A two-day festival with rich content intended for the whole family will be organized at all locations from 11:00 to 18:00.
As before, visitors will be able to enjoy a diverse entertainment program that will take place on the central festival stages. The alternation of musical and dance performances, children's plays and various other performances will be complemented by a carnival atmosphere throughout the festival area - majorettes, street entertainers, jugglers, costumed children's heroes as well as various all-day creative workshops.
The Great Easter Carnival is primarily a charitable event whose goal is to emphasize family values and encourage social responsibility among the youngest. Therefore, in cooperation with elementary schools, a large socially responsible action has been launched in which children of all lower grades participate.
"The Election of the Most Beautiful Easter Egg" and "The Election of the Most Beautiful Easter Basket" will be two disciplines in which the little ones will be able to express their creativity, imagination and competitive spirit. Along with friendship and laughter, their work will be very useful and rewarded. With this action, children, now traditionally, help their socially disadvantaged friends who need help. Their little will be a lot for some!
The most creative works will be exhibited at the carnival itself, and visitors will directly contribute to this beautiful action with their donation, while in return they will take home a small work of art - a child's drawing. The money collected will go to the fund to which the winner allocates the funds.
In addition to this charitable action, in Zemun and New Belgrade, children will also be delighted by the Horse Zone. The equestrian club will provide an introduction to these magnificent animals as well as a short walk with them, for all those who want to feel the power of this royal sport.
In Tasmajdan Park and on the Zemun Quay, "facepainting" will also be waiting for the little ones for their complete fairy-tale experience.
This year, in the spirit of the most joyful holiday, an Easter egg tapping competition will be organized for all visitors, as well as the cutest baby crawling competition. Valuable prizes await the most resourceful, and interested parties can register on site.
