The traditional Belgrade summer festival "Zemun Fest" is being held again at three locations in the heart of one of the most beautiful parts of Belgrade this year from 23rd to 27th August. At the very end of August, Zemun will be the site of film premieres, art exhibitions, a unique street market and three concerts of musical giants: Van Gogh band, YU grupa and Partibrejkersi.
Part of the film program of the upcoming festival will be opened on 23rd August with a ceremonial screening of "Jeanne du Barry" with Johnny Depp in the lead role, the film that opened the Cannes Festival. Before the screening, the audience will enjoy a film music concert performed by the "Rocher Quartet".
This edition of Zemun Fest will be dedicated to the legendary people from Zemun - YU grupa, who marked the history of Yugoslav rock and roll, but also the history of this part of Belgrade. They grew up in Zemun, they got their name in Zemun, and many important life and musical moments tie them to Zemun and the Danube! With all that in mind, the Zemun Fest audience will be privileged to enjoy the screening of the film "YU grupa - A Fleeting Dream" on 24th August.
The film program of the festival will be enriched with screenings of "Northern Comfort" on 25th August and "Broker" on 26th August. In accordance with the trends of film festivals, on 27th August, the Zemun Fest audience will have the opportunity to see two episodes of the new series "Tunel" directed by Petar Ristovski. All film screenings will take place in a unique outdoor cinema hall in Zemun Park.
The concert program will take place on the main stage at the Zemun Quay: on 24th August, the band Red Danger will perform, on 25th August the iconic Partibrejkersi, on 26th August Van Gogh band, while on 27th August, the legendary YU grupa will close the festival.
The Street Market with over a hundred exhibitors will also "lean" on the concert zone of the festival. In this zone, visitors to the festival can enjoy new smells and tastes, a unique offer of food and drinks, but also get to know the creativity of young artists and craftsmen who, by participating in this event, get a chance to better present and market their products.
During the five festival days, residents and visitors of Zemun can expect dozens of free programs, art exhibitions, film premieres, concerts and a street market. All this guarantees memorable summer evenings on the banks of the Danube.
Welcome to Zemun Fest.
